- Highest peak: Chimtarga, 5,489 m. Others over 5,000 m include Bodkhona 5,138 m, Mirali 5,132 m, Energia 5,120 m.
- Seven Lakes (Haft Kul): along the Shing river; Mijgon 1,598 m, Soya 1,701 m, Hushyor 1,770 m, Nofin 1,820 m, Khurdak 1,870 m, Marguzor 2,139 m (largest), Hazorchashma 2,400 m. More than 14 km from first to last; day trips drive between them on a dirt road.
- Iskanderkul: 2,195 m, 3.4 km2, up to 72 m deep, about 130 km (about 3 h by road) from Dushanbe; waterfall of about 40 m on its outflow.
- Kulikalon: lake plateau at about 2,850 m below Chimtarga, reached on foot from Artuch (about 2,150 m) in 3-4 hours. Alauddin Pass about 3,780-3,800 m.
